Difference & Repetition is an independent publication by S.T. Kim.

I am a South Korean quantitative trader in my early 30s, holding a Ph.D. in Financial Engineering. Previously, I worked as an Equity Derivatives Quant & Trader at a major firms in Seoul. I did not wait for retirement to start this journey; I left the institutional world early and navigate the markets on my own terms.

I cover the full spectrum of the crypto market: Bitcoin Spot, Futures, and Options. This is not a textbook theory. It is a raw archive of my real trading experiences as an independent trader navigating the volatility every day.

Why "Difference & Repetition"?

The title pays homage to Gilles Deleuze’s Difference and Repetition.

The market is a machine of repetition where cycles and psychology recur. However, within that repetition lies a singularity—a microscopic "Difference" that standard models miss. My goal is to capture both. I harvest the Repetition for structural consistency and hunt the Difference for the hidden alpha. True profitability comes from mastering the balance between the two. I also write essays that view trading from a philosophical perspective, exploring the nature of the market beyond just numbers and charts.

The Vision: AI & Human

My ultimate goal is to establish a one-person trading firm that trades in collaboration with AI. I am working towards a future where human intuition defines the strategy, and AI agents handle the execution. A perfect symbiosis of human philosophy and machine efficiency.
